Kim Jong-un has piled on about 91lbs since his father’s death four years ago by gorging on food and drink, South Korean spies reveal.
When Kim took over from his father, his weight was allegedly a mere 196lbs. However, he bulked up to almost 266lbs in 2014 and added 20 more pounds to his not-so-insubstantial girth this year.
“He is suffering from insomnia,” said politician Lee Cheol-Woo of South Korea’s Saenuri Party. “He keeps a close tab on any potential threats to his power, including the military, and he is obsessed with ensuring his personal safety. Because of his habitual binge eating and drinking, he is likely to develop adult diseases.”
Kim’s father’s former sushi chef has also talked about Kim’s love for fine food.
“I used to make sushi for the General (Jong-il) at least once a week and Jong-un always joined the dinner. So I could say Jong-un liked sushi,” said the chef. “He drank a lot. His favorite was Cristal, usually about two bottles [in a sitting].”
The expensive champagne was created for Russian Tsar Alexander II and costs around $232 a bottle.
His weight gain can also be contributed towards his obsession of Swiss cheese, which he developed an addiction for while he was a student in Switzerland and which he imports in bulk for his own personal consumption.
It’s not just Kim’s binge-eating that’s a cause of concern for his supporters, his obsession with smoking cigarette has also raised some eyebrows. Just recently the Supreme Leader was spotted holding a burning stub in his hand in the middle of an anti-smoking campaign.
Kim Jong-un’s father, Kim Jong-il and grandfather Kim Il-sung were also quite obese and paid the price for their love of steaks, cheese and champagne by dying of heart attacks. His supporters should well hope he doesn’t experience a similar fate.
