The National Rifle Association members are pretty clear about their stance on gun ownership. They are consistently against President Obama’s assault weapons ban and insist on stationing armed guards at schools and institutions to increase security and prevent events like Sandy Hook shootings.
A video has been released by the NRA that criticizes the president’s decision to ban guns in the country when ‘his kids are protected by armed guards at their school.’ It starts with this argument that if the president’s children can have armed security then why the rest of the country can’t have that level of protection.
In the video, President Obama has been labeled as ‘just another elitist hypocrite when it comes to fair share of security’. The NRA is basically saying that Obama is providing facilities to the wealthy people who pay huge taxes and is creating a gun-free, vulnerable zone for the common man.
This video is a part of the NRA campaign ‘Stand And Fight’. After the unfortunate Newtown mass shooting by Adam Lanza which claimed several lives of elementary students and educators, the NRA wants the government to increase ‘armed’ security all over the country.
What the NRA fails to understand is that violence can never be treated or cured with more violence. While some people support this idea, many people in the United States who are in favor of the gun ban are against the increased guns policy of the NRA, especially the bereaved families of the shooting who know what kind of damage a gun can do if easily available.
