It has just been reported that President Barack Obama and the White House will not release any photos of Osama bin Laden's body.
It was a difficult decision to make because the White House has encountered countless demands for a photo as proof that bin Laden was in fact killed. A previous death photo that surfaced of bin Laden was soon proven fake, and the general public has not seen any photos of bin Laden's body or his alleged burial at sea. Obama says it will stay that way.
Speaking during an interview with CBS's “60 Minutes,” Obama said the images are gruesome and could be inflammatory. Officials have already cautioned that the photo of bin Laden's body could fuel anti-U.S. sentiment, and they hope that withholding the photo will prevent an attack by al Qaeda.
