Back to US from his four-day trip to Asia, President Barack Obama pardoned the National Thanksgiving Turkey, taking a shot at his former opponent Mitt Romney and cracking jokes about his reelection. "They say that life is all about second chances and this November I can't agree more," Obama said.

"So in the spirit of the season I have one more gift to give," in an apparent reference to Romney’s claim after the election that Obama won by giving ‘gifts’to minority groups.

The White House has also put its annual turkey pardon to a Facebook poll, allowing users to vote on which Cobbler or Gobbler will be blessed by Obama this Thanksgiving. But, the entire gimmick sounds meaningless since neither turkey is actually at risk of being killed.
