#OpIsrael: ‘Anonymous’ Hackers Launch Cyber Attack On Israeli Government Websites On Holocaust Memorial Day

Global hacktivist group Anonymous launched a cyber attack on various Israeli government websites on Holocaust Memorial Day. A mass assault was planned by the hackers to protest against Israeli hostility towards the Palestinians.

Global hacktivist group Anonymous launched a cyber attack on various Israeli government websites on Holocaust Memorial Day. A mass assault was planned by the hackers to protest against Israeli hostility towards the Palestinians.

While the hackers claim to have caused damage worth billions of dollars, the Israeli authorities have responded by saying that there have been no major disruptions.

According to demotix.com, “Campaign of the so-called "#OpIsrael" launched by a number of young Muslims in the world penetrate thousands of Israeli websites in the campaign for the Liberation of Palestine and the liberation of prisoners from Israeli jails.”

The #OpIsrael Twitter feed also suggests that it has hacked @WorldNewsIsrael and deleted all the tweets.

It also claims to have leaked database of Israeli Forex companies:

A video was released on the YouTube channel Crypt0nymous giving details about #OpIsrael:

The group claims to have hacked more than 100,000 Web sites, 40,000 Facebook accounts, and 30,000 bank accounts belonging to Israelis.

There have been constant updates on the #OpIsrael Twitter account. Screen grabs of hacked Israeli websites showing error were also posted in tweets.
