Pakistani media is extensively covering the elections that took place on Saturday. As the results started to come out, people, who were hoping for ‘Naya Pakistan i.e. referred to as change’ at first were happy to see PTI (Imran khan’s party) winning in various constituencies. But within sometime only there was a twist and PML-N started leading over PTI in Punjab.

Now PML-N’s leader and former PM, Nawaz Sharif, is seeking to become Pakistan’s prime minister for the third time. He appears far ahead of all his rivals in elections 2013, according to a partial count of votes cast.

Sharif himself also declared his victory while addressing to his people. He said his party is a clear winner in Pakistan's general election and that he is hoping for a majority to avoid a coalition.

As Sharif surges in election counts people of Pakistan are sharing their thoughts and feelings on Twitter and Facebook. The reaction is mixed but there are a few important points that can be taken out from what people are saying.

1. People of Pakistan are still hopeful for a better future.

2. Some are disappointed, as PTI which was largely supported by the youth and women of Pakistan, is losing against PML-N

3. People associate PML-N’s apparent victory as a lesson for PPP.

4. Of course, Sharif’s supporters are celebrating his Party’s victory.

5. And there are those who are clearly not happy with PML-N taking over Pakistani Government for the next five years.

Here’s what people are posting on social media about the entire situation.
