Pat Robertson on Tuesday, in a reply to one of his viewers, claimed that ‘vicious’ gay people wear special rings that can cut and infect other people with AIDS.
He said, “There are laws now, I think the homosexual community has put these draconian laws on the books that prohibit people from discussing this particular affliction, you can tell somebody you had a heart attack, you can tell them they’ve got high blood pressure, but you can’t tell anybody you’ve got AIDS.”
“You know what they do in San Francisco, some in the gay community there they want to get people so if they got the stuff they’ll have a ring, you shake hands, and the ring’s got a little thing where you cut your finger. Really. It’s that kind of vicious stuff, which would be the equivalent of murder,” he finished.
LGBT community and supporters are really angry with the televangelist’s statement:
Pat Robertson said gay people with AIDS wear rings to cut & infect others. This isn't true, but could someone do it once, to Pat Robertson?— $pencer (@13spencer) August 28, 2013
In other news, Pat Robertson.... still an idiot.— Keith W. Cunningham (@vorpalkeith) August 28, 2013
Pat Robertson is an idiot. Someone tell that senile, doddering old fool that its time to go take his nap.— Cyclops was right... (@therealkparsons) August 27, 2013
This is not the first time Pat Robertson has offended the gay community with his comments. Last month, he suggested that gay people are just heterosexuals who are confused because of ‘chromosomal damage’ they suffered as children and don’t know where to go or what to choose.
