10 Years After The Devastating Tsunami, Victims' Personal Items Uncovered

Items of everyday use, such as jewelry, watches, cellphones and keys, were found.

A decade after the devastating 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami killed more than 227,000 people, Thai police opened a shipping container filled with documents and possessions of some of the victims.

Over 5,300 people were killed in Thailand alone, making it, along with Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India (mostly in Tamil Nadu), Maldives and Somalia, one of the worst-hit regions by one of the deadliest natural disasters in recorded history.

Below, you can have a look at some of the precious everyday use items that give us a glimpse of the lives of the people who died almost 10 years ago.
