Beverage brand, Poland Spring has finally responded to Republican Senator Marco Rubio's viral water break in the middle of his Republican rebuttal address.

Following President Obama’s first State of the Union address for his second term, Marco Rubio delivered the GOP’s rebuttal. During his speech, Senator Rubio took a quick sip of water from a tiny Poland Spring bottle while awkwardly keeping his eyes on the camera.

Rubio’s awkwardly funny sip started Twitter frenzy. The event quickly became a viral hit and #watergate started trending everywhere within no time.

Rubio himself tweeted:

Actually that was quite brave of him. He later explained his water break on ‘Good Morning America’, “I needed water. What are you going to do? God has a funny way of reminding us we’re human.”

Finally, after 14 hours of this awkward event, Poland Spring released a photo on its Facebook page of a tiny Poland Spring bottle with its reflection in a vanity mirror, captioning: “Reflecting on our cameo. What a night!”

The popular beverage brand remained unresponsive about the whole Rubio meme on Twitter.

Poland Spring’s late response on the Rubio meme is just sad. Any other beverage brand would have been clever enough to quickly jump in and take advantage of the Rubio meme.

A good example is of Oreo, the brand was all over Twitter when the Super Bowl blackout occurred, which actually gained the brand a lot of followers.

Nihal Mehta, CEO of LocalResponse said, “This should be a wake-up call for Poland Spring.”

“If I were Vitamin Water right now, I would be tweeting at Rubio and creating a whole campaign for the senator saying, ‘Hey Rubio, you should use us and you won’t get thirsty next time in the middle of your rebuttal.”

Here’s the moment that everyone will remember from Rubio’s GOP response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address.
