Venezuela's electoral commission announces that new presidential elections will be held on April 14 following Hugo Chavez's death.
Acting President Nicolas Maduro pushed for a snap election just hours after Chavez was honored at a state funeral.
On Saturday (March 9) election officials said the vote will now be held on April 14th.
With little campaign time before the election, Maduro has been accused of cashing in on an emotional outpouring following Chavez's death.
He'll likely run for presidency against Henrique Capriles, who lost to Chavez in October.
Both politicians have until Monday (March 11) to register as candidates.
