"Grand Isle, Louisiana- As President Obama addressed the nation Friday afternoon concerning the BP oil spill impacting the Gulf coast, Florida Governor and Independent U.S. Senate candidate Charlie Crist was positioned prominently at his side. During President Obama’s speech, he mentioned Gov. Crist and encouraged tourists to visit Gulf beaches. He also offered the government's full support to the people affected by what has now become the worst oil spill in United States history. Visiting Louisiana for the second time since the April 20th oil rig explosion, President Obama assured the people of the Gulf coast that he understood the level of frustration that exists among residents waiting for this crisis to be resolved. The President said that Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen, who is the national coordinator for handling the spill, would utilize all available resources in order to prevent the spread of the oil, stop the leakage, and clean up any affected area.
