Julian Assange is an Australian publisher, journalist, computer programmer and internet activist. He is the founder, editor in chief and on the advisory board of the highly controversial whistleblower website – WikiLeaks (which everyone goes through). WikiLeaks like we all know is famous for its worldwide news leaks, be it Pakistan, India, Europe or even America. The stated purpose of these leaks is to create open governments. Many might agree or disagree with the idea of these open governments, but WikiLeaks has unveiled secrets of many without hesitation. Assange has lived in several countries and has made public appearances in many parts of the world to speak about freedom of the press, censorship and investigative journalism.
Assange has been recently extradited to Sweden and is under house arrest for rape allegations. Despite his house arrest he released a ‘Priceless’ parody of the MasterCard commercial. In the parody he is placing allegations on the American multinational corporation that they have withheld over $15 million in donations to the activist group. He not only affronted the company, but also credited WikiLeaks for the Egyptian Revolution.

"I found Assange's expansion on WikiLeaks role in the Arab uprisings ... stunningly obtuse." - Monitor's Dan Murphy
