Russian President Vladimir Putin had some high praise for GOP candidate Donald Trump during his annual press conference in Moscow.
“He is a very outstanding man, unquestionably talented. It’s not our job to judge his qualities, that’s a job for American voters, but he’s the absolute leader in the presidential race,” Putin said to the Russian people.
He lauded Trump for wanting to achieve a “deeper relationship” with Russia, asking “how can we not welcome that? Of course we welcome that!”
Putin and Trump appear to have a strange, mutual affection for each other’s fascist tendencies, considering they have not actually spent any time together. Trump boasted that he got to know Putin “very well” while they were “stablemates” on the same 60 Minutes episode—“stablemates” meaning they were filming separate segments on separate continents.
Earlier in September, Trump also stated that he believed he and Putin would get along splendidly: "I will get along—I think—with Putin, and I will get along with others, and we will have a much more stable world.” President Obama currently has a somewhat strained relationship with Putin, but that is probably because Obama is a decent human being and Putin is not.
Trump and Putin as leaders of two of the most powerful nations in the world—what more could we want?
