Rep. Joe Donnelly (D) has beaten former congressman Richard Mourdock (R) in the race for Indiana’s open Senate seat. Apparently he and Todd Akins realize the folly of their words. Or maybe, keeping their track record in mind, they don’t!
But the fact remains that it was their words that cost them the elections, more than anything! If he thought he will get support enough to win after his controversial comments about pregnancy from rape being "something God intended to happen," he was not only mistaken but delusional as well!
His remarks got severe responses from President Obama as well as others, including Larry Flint who offered Mourdock $1 million if he could prove this claim. Even Mitt Romney immediately distanced himself from Mourdock's comments, though he did not withdraw his endorsement.
Here is what the people think of his defeat!

Appears Mourdock will not have an opportunity to exercise his unique brand of bipartisanship, nor expound on his reproductive theories.— Alex Wagner (@alexwagner) November 7, 2012
