Conservative radio host and political commentator Rush Limbaugh announced on The Rush Limbaugh Show (the highest-rated talk radio program in the states):
“I don’t know how else to say this. Obama’s not in any jeopardy whatsoever. Folks, let me tell you something, I will just restrain as much as possible. In my humble thinking the American people are not going to tolerate the first black president being removed from office. The people of this country will not tolerate the first African American Attorney General to be removed from office.”
Limbaugh also touched upon the ongoing Benghazi attacks controversy regarding the Obama administration. According to the radio host, the public will support Obama through anything. Not even the Benghazi allegations can lead to his impeachment because the people of America will not let that happen:
“But beyond that, I am telling you as far as the public is concerned he is not in trouble. Benghazi is not gonna touch Obama.”
Limbaugh has been a constant citric of the Obama administration. In 2009, he told his listeners, “I hope Obama fails.” But later the man said that he didn’t mean that Obama should fail, he meant his policies to fail.
During the past few weeks, the Obama administration has received a lot of criticism over several controversies such as the IRS scandal, the Benghazi attacks and the Associated Press controversy. Limbaugh chose the ripe moment to comment on the fact that no matter how scandalous the President grows, people will find a way to admire him. And he is actually quite right. Just recently a poll was conducted which indicated that despite the controversies, Americans didn’t dislike Obama.
