San Diego Mayor Bob Filner has been accused several times of sexually harassing and groping female staffers. Amid all the scandals surrounding him, Filner appeared in an interview on a local television channel KUSI and gave the most unexpected answer to all the allegations.

“I'm a hugger, of both men and women,” Filner said. “As it turns out that those are taken in an offensive manner, I need to have a greater sense of awareness of what I am doing and we will correct that, and I am taking those steps.”

He was of the opinion that unlike the accusations, he was a very outgoing person whose kindness and friendly nature had been taken in an offensive manner and completely out of context.

He also said that there have been no formal complaints against him and added that he was entitled to due process. “No charges in a fair way that I can deal with,” he said.

Filner has been asked to step down but he is adamant to continue with his job and rejected all the controversies surrounding him. According to Fox News Bob Filner said, “I’m not going to resign, and here's why. As your elected mayor, I fully expect to be accountable to the citizens of San Diego for all of my actions. But as a citizen of this country, I also expect -- and am entitled to -- due process, and the opportunity to respond in a fair and impartial venue to specific allegations. I do not believe I am guilty of sexual harassment, and I believe a full presentation of the facts will vindicate me.”

Quite a lot of people dislike him. Have a look:
