Police and a suspected felon traded gunfire at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. The shooter is now being treated at Froedtert Hospital (above).
A scary incident at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin had police and an armed felon trading gunfire. It seems that only the felon was injured.
Police approached a man on the seventh floor in the neonatal unit of the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. They had tracked him down and were there to issue a warrant for his arrest on felony charges. The man, who was holding a baby when police approached him, initially acted as though he would cooperate. He (thankfully) put down the baby.
Then the suspect ran away while pulling out a handgun. He fired at the officers, and they fired back, hitting him. The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin was put on lockdown, and will remain so until getting the all clear from authorities, but it seems that the incident is over. It seems the shooter was not, as some headlines suggested, there to shoot children of anyone. The suspect is now being treated at Froedtert Hospital.
So far the shooter at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin has not been identified, nor do we know why police were arresting him in the first place. It is safe to say that whatever it is, he now has more charges to deal with.
