Six Police Officers Shot In Ogden, Utah, Suspect In Custody

Police exchanged gun fire with a person inside a home at 3268 Jackson Avenue in Ogden.

OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police exchanged gun fire with a person inside a home at 3268 Jackson Avenue in Ogden.



The Associated Press is reporting the Ogden police were serving a drug related search warrant when shots were exchanged.

Witnesses say they heard a number of gunshots, including what they describe as automatic weapon fire, around 8:45 pm Wednesday night.
 
Police say six officers are in the hospital being treated for gunshot wounds.  The conditions of the officers are unknown at this time but reports from the scene say two of the officers may be serious hurt with possible head injuries.

Police say they have a suspect in custody who is also in the hospital being treated for a gunshot wound.

Clayton Payne lives in the neighborhood.  He told ABC 4, "We heard multiple gunshots going off, sounded like an AK-47s. I ran out of the house and came down to the corner and was escorted back to the house by uniform officers with their rifles at hand."
