A day at the Cheshire Car Festival turned deadly when a stunt pilot lost control of his plane and slammed into the earth, killing him.
The horrifying moment at CarFest North happened in front of thousands of families.
The aircraft was part of an aerobatic display team for the local car show hosted by new Top Gear host Chris Evans. The Gnat team, based at North Weald Airfield and part of the Heritage Aircraft Trust, was performing an aerobic display when the incident occurred.
Footage shot from the shows the red Gnat plane nose diving and crashing into trees. Pilot Kevin Whyman died in the crash.
Earlier Evans had tweeted:

Meanwhile, Cheshire police continue their investigation and asked anyone with footage of the crash to come forward:
