Ted Cruz Would Force Women To Carry A Rapist's Child

Ted Cruz told Megyn Kelly that he wouldn’t allow abortion even under conditions of rape or incest because it isn’t “the child’s fault.”

During an interview on Fox News, Kelly grilled Cruz for his unforgivably cruel abortion stance that would drive away potential women voters, noting the candidate “may be too far right on social issues.”

Cruz justified his irrational position stating the baby shouldn’t be the one to suffer.

“Rape is a horrific crime against the humanity of a person. But at the same time, as horrible as the crime is, I don’t believe it’s the child’s fault,” Cruz said.  “We want to do everything we can do to prevent the crime on the front end and to punish the criminal. But I don’t believe it makes sense to blame the child.”

But Kelly exposed how the Republican candidate is thereby causing the woman to suffer.

“They say you would be forcing the mother to go through unspeakable trauma to carry her rapist’s baby for nine months,” Kelly pressed.

Cruz responded rather indirectly, simply pointing out the decision could be left up to the states.

“Here it would be a question for Wisconsin, what should the laws be governing abortion,” Cruz said. “If Roe v. Wade was not the law, it would be up to the people of Wisconsin and the people of Wisconsin might decide to allow some exceptions or not allow some exceptions because everyone agrees that you always want to protect the life of the mother.”

While Cruz’s opponent – Donald Trump – has declared punishing women for abortion, Cruz is already elaborating on what that punishment would be.
