The Metropolitan Police just released CCTV footage showing a teenage girl punching an 87-year-old woman in the face on a bus in Croydon, south London.
The woman suffered a black eye after being hit by one of two girls who can be seen in the video. She was later taken to a nearby hospital.
The shocking assault occurred last month after the teenagers refused to pay to board the route 166 bus, according to Croydon Safer Transport Team, ensuing in an argument between the driver and teens.
As passengers, including the elderly victim, got off the bus, one of the girls punched her in the face, before both of them fled the scene. Officers are currently looking for the two suspects who are described as black, aged between 14 and 18.
The 14-year-old girl who allegedly punched the elderly woman has been taken into custody, according to police.
“Officers have also identified the second female involved in the incident – she has not been arrested at this time,” police said in a statement.
