On Sunday a nation is set to remember September 11, 2001 with a series of events including an address from President Obama. It is hard to imagine that the attacks on America happened ten years ago.
The ten year anniversary of September 11, 2001 happens this Sunday and it is hard for many to imagine that it’s been “just” 10 years. The September 11 attacks touched Americans and the world, as the terrorist attack led to fear of Muslims, a war with Iraq and long security lines at airports.
Like generations knowing where they were when President John F. Kennedy was shot, Americans remember where they were on 9/11. Some were watching the news and witnessed the second plane fly into the second Twin Tower, while others sat at work counting down the time to the lunch hour. Everyone has a story of where they were on that infamous day.
As we prepare for the 10th anniversary of 9/11 let’s take a look back on a few of the most iconic images from Tuesday, September 11, 2001.
Feel free to share your 9/11 story about where you were and how the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon and the bravery of Flight 93 impacted you.
