Two police officers face possible disciplinary action after letting an underage drinker go when she beat them at a game of rock-paper-scissors.

A cell phone video of the interaction shows an unidentified college student react in shock when her rock beats the officers’ scissors and they walk away without arresting the underage drinker.

The incident occurred last weekend at the Chilifest country music festival near Texas A&M. Dennis Gaas, constable for Burleson County Precinct 2, hired the officers to work security at the event. Gaas said officers are given discretion on whether or not to issue citations to attendees, but disapproved of the officers’ handling of this particular situation.

“(Playing) games to get someone out of a ticket, I have a problem with that,” Gaas said.

The three officers will not be allowed to work Chilifest in the future.

The incident is a crucial example of white privilege as countless run-ins with the police paints a different scenario for black individuals. Black folks are wrongfully detained, beaten and even killed by the cops but a white girl can get off scot-free.
