Aerial footage of a massive Thanksgiving traffic jam in southern California has shocked internet users and once you take a look at it, you’ll understand why.
The video above, captured by ABC7 Eyewitness News, shows the miles-long gridlock on the 405 motorway in Los Angeles, which is one of the busiest freeways in the United States.
The stunning spectacle has drawn numerous comparisons on social media. While a lot of people are comparing the white and red lines to a Christmas ribbon, one user commented it looks like a giant strip of bacon.

Nearly 49 million people expected to travel this thanksgiving, according to the American Automobile Association, noting that is an “increase of one million travelers compared with last year’s traffic.
“Most will travel on the tried and true holiday road trip, thanks to gas prices that are holding at close to $2 per gallon. Others will fly, take the bus or set off on a cruise to celebrate with their loved ones,” said AAA President and CEO Marshall Doney.
