The Boston Marathon bombing happened a year ago on Tuesday. For most, it has faded into the past, but some people have to deal with daily reminders.

Stories like these are always bittersweet. It's incredible to see the persistence of the human spirit, but it's hard not to think about how none of this had to happen. Terrorist attacks like the Boston Marathon bombing don't kill nearly as many people as heart disease or cancer, but they reduce our faith in humanity. It takes a lot of good stories to get that back.
