Bernie Sanders’s campaign manager, Jeff Weaver, sent out an email on Wednesday outlining exactly what is happening in the Democratic race: “The Clinton campaign has been watching these Wisconsin results come in, and the delegate race of course is tight there, but the reality is they're running out of patience. So they're going to begin deploying a new strategy, it’s going to be called disqualify him, defeat him and then they can unify the party later."
This is precisely what is occurring. Hillary Clinton has the backing of the entire Democratic establishment and corporate media, and they are now attempting to produce hit piece after hit piece on Sanders.
On Wednesday, Clinton sent out a tweet declaring “Bernie Sanders prioritized gun manufacturers' rights over the parents of the children killed at Sandy Hook.”
Only hours later, Connecticut senator Chris Murphy tweeted, “Bernie is a friend, but this is really bad. Dems can't nominate a candidate who supports gun manufacturer immunity” in response to a New York Daily News interview with Sanders that was nothing more than a hack job and series of “gotcha” questions.

Sanders’s position on gun manufacturer liability has always been the common sense position a majority of Americans agree with: he does not support unilaterally suing gun manufacturers if guns they sold are used in a shooting. He does support suing manufacturers if they knowingly sold firearms to individuals who should not have them.
Yet apparently, this answer somehow demonstrates that Sanders sides with gun manufacturers over dead children; the horrifically misleading cover page of Wednesday’s New York Daily News was titled “Bernie Sanders’s Sandy Hook Shame,” implicitly blaming him for the massacre.
Clinton, Murphy, and the majority of the mainstream media piled on to this completely disingenuous attack on Sanders; however, their efforts may have backfired.
Most Twitter users responded to Clinton’s tweet with complete incredulity that she would stoop to this level to smear Sanders.
@HillaryClinton This is pretty disgusting politics, Hillary.— Nicholas DiMoro (@nickdimorohere) April 6, 2016
Sanders has a D- voting record with the NRA, while Clinton just had a fundraiser hosted by an ex-NRA lobbyist.
It’s also worth noting that in 2008, Clinton attacked then Sen. Obama for being “too liberal” on guns; now, she has switched positions to appeal to the public and its opinion on Sandy Hook.
Distorting the facts is what Clinton and the corporate media do best. The attacks on Sanders will only continue to ramp up as New York looms closer.
