Even though the election is right around the corner, (or may be just because of it!) President Barack Obama took the time out to pen a letter for the 10-year-old girl who said she was bullied for having two dads.

The letter from the President came after Sophia Bailey Klugh wrote a letter to the President thanking him for his support of her two fathers and their love for each other.

President Obama wrote a thorough reply to Sophia about handling kids at school, who tease her about her parents, ‘You and I are blessed to live in a country where we are born equal no matter what we look like on the outside, where we grow up, or who our parents are,’ Obama wrote.

Jonathan Bailey, one of Sophia’s fathers said that he and his partner Triton Klugh could not control their emotions and began crying when they read their daughter’s letter.

Even Obama realized the affection and love between the family members when he said in his response: ‘You are very fortunate to have two parents who care deeply for you,’ he told Sophia. ‘They are lucky to have such an exceptional daughter in you.’
