Not all mutts are this lucky but this scruffy little guy was lucky enough to be spotted by Redditor Bennyboy1337.
He not only took interest in the little guy’s plight but helped it out as well!
“I was moving cross country back to Idaho from Oklahoma, decided to take the more scenic but longer drive through New Mexico and Arizona; along the way we crossed through the Navajo reservation, we saw countless dogs all emaciated along the way. This particular guy caught my attention and I just couldn't bear the sight of him limping around next to the highway,” he writes before explaining what happened next.
He picked it up, fed it, took it home, cleaned it up and the next day dropped it off at a humane society for abandoned person.
“The next day we drove the 5 hours up to Salt Lake City, where we dropped Jamie off at the local humane society. Along the way I had to stop several times to wash Jamie off, and clean the carrier out; he had the worst smelling diarrhea you could imagine and I couldn't drive with it fumigating the car. The people that took Jamie in where really nice and helpful, they even took the dog carrier I had and gave me a clean one in return,” he says.
Now that is a praiseworthy act. An act we can all learn from. We see a lot of thing happening around us that we do not approve of but do not do anything about them as well. Just condoning something isn’t enough. We should do our part, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem.
Hats off to Bennyboy1337 and others like him! They are indeed role models!
