“When you put on that uniform and you put on that badge and get in that police car, your heart should be leading the way,” says Tommy Norman.

At a time when the country is reeling from the tension brought about by recent police shootings, here’s a story about a cop from Arkansas that will surely cheer you up.

Tommy Norman is a patrol officer working in North Rock Hill, Arkansas, since 1998. His service to the local community is considered legendary, not just because he performs his duties remarkably well but also because he goes beyond his job to help those in need.

He is known for participating in various charitable causes, for which he has received high praise from celebrities. In fact, just recently, rapper the Game raised around $50,000 to help the officer continue his noble efforts.

Killer Mike also praised Norman during a CNN interview last year, saying: “I would encourage more police and more people to look at what this officer’s doing, in particular. Because he’s doing something right.”

But the cop is not only famous in his neighborhood. Norman is also a huge celebrity on Instagram, where he has more than 1 million followers.

His posts mostly feature him interacting with the members of his community, especially children who absolutely adore him.

Norman’s example is all the more important during these times since he is white and most of the people he serves belong to minority groups.

“When you put on that uniform and you put on that badge and get in that police car, your heart should be leading the way,” he told Fox News.
