The Republican presidential candidate spoke at Hotel Roanoke this week when he griped about the heat and accused the hotel of not turning down the air conditioner, according to The Huffington Post.
“See how hot it is? Everyone’s sweating and soaking wet,” Trump said. “I wouldn’t pay the hotel.”
While it was approximately 100 degrees outside of the hotel, indoors it was much cooler, yet Trump still decided to make a big, public ordeal about the heat.
“They turn the air conditioning down because they save money, so then I would not pay them,” he said. “You oughta try turning on the air conditioning, or we’re not going to get you paid.”
It isn’t evident whether or not Trump was serious about refusing to pay the hotel, or if he was just trying to make another one of his deafening points.
Hotel Roanoke opposed the presidential candidate’s claims that the air conditioning system was turned down.
“The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center’s HVAC system was on and working properly throughout the event to provide a comfortable environment for all in attendance,” the company said in a statement to WDBJ7. “Hotel staff did everything possible to keep guests comfortable and accommodated, both inside and out.”
Trump should focus his attention more on paying his bills he collectively owes, rather than shamelessly blaming a hotel for their air conditioning.
