Is there ever a time when President Donald Trump isn't publishing something egregiously immature on Twitter? It seems there are only fleeting lapses of relief between each unstable, unpredictable, unprofessional tweet.
Today is no different. Trump lambasted department store chain Nordstrom for dropping his daughter Ivanka's fashion line.
My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person -- always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 8, 2017
As Mother Jones points out, the president, here, is openly playing favorites by failing to mention the other brands that have also cut Ivanka's line — including Jet, Home Shopping Network, Belk, Neiman Marcus, and ShopStyle.
Of course, he's also playing family favorites by raging against a brand that terminated a business relationship with his daughter, with whom he's proven to be kind of obsessed.
Not to mention, the tweet itself is shady.
And if you're wondering about the fate of Nordstrom, Mother Jones reports that its stock recovered 20 minutes after Trump posted the tweet.
Better luck next time, Mr. President.
