Twitter And The World Reacts To The ‘Royal Baby’

Kate Middleton is pregnant!

Okay, you almost certainly know about it already! But this royal child is the first direct succession in 120 years who will get to meet its great-grandparent who are still ruling, and hopefully will be when the young tot arrives!

Within seconds of Prince William and Kate's happy announcement the Royal couple were trending on Twitter and drawing congratulations from almost everyone we can think of. The prime minister, David Cameron led the congratulations to the Duke and Duchess after the news that they are expecting their first child.

Mr. Cameron said in a Twitter message:

President Obama offered his family's congratulations via his daily White House briefing. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney delivered the Obamas' statement during their daily briefing.

'We extend our congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the welcome news out of London that they are having their first child,' Carney read.

On Twitter, #royalbaby, #NameALegendand Prince William and Kate Middletonwere trending within minutes of the news breaking and a fake Twitter account with the name @IAmRoyalBaby was created which had 500 followers in less than five minutes.
