The alleged mastermind behind a terrorist attack in Kenya was killed by a U.S drone.
Who can forget the awful attack at the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya, that left 67 innocent people dead in 2013?
The Islamist militant group, al-Shabaab, took responsibility for the mass shooting inside a popular mall, killing and wounding many people.
Now, it has been reported that a U.S drone has taken down the man behind the attacks. Adan Garar was driving in southern Somalia when the predator drone launched missiles at his car.
Since the attack at the Nairobi Westgate Mall, the same al-Shabaab group has planned other violent attacks against citizens. With the mastermind dead, it could deter future attacks, or perhaps backfire with more.
Drones have been a very controversial issue in the U.S and around the world, but if this time it prevented more innocent people from dying, maybe that conversation will change.
