Connecticut state police say a van carrying former President Bill Clinton was hit from behind on the Merritt Parkway while he was on his way to deliver the Class Day speech at Yale University. Clinton told WTIC-TV on Sunday that the accident was "just a fluke" and that he is fine. State police Lt. J. Paul Vance says traffic was nearly at a standstill just north of New Haven because of another accident when a civilian vehicle struck the Secret Service van carrying Clinton at a very low rate of speed. The van continued on to Yale, where Clinton gave his address to Yale seniors. He made no mention of the accident during his speech.
