When a beautiful mural in Wichita, Kansas was defaced with racist graffiti; the local residents refused to take it sitting down. They united in full force to show that racism would not be tolerated in their town.
The mural originally created by Latino students and immigrants was drawn over with slurs such as “wetback” and words like “KKK” and “welfare.”
The organizers of the restoration project expected only 30-40 people but were pleasantly surprised to see almost 100 turning up.
Slowly, but with great solidarity, they restored the mural to its former beauty.
Now this is an effort worth lauding isn’t it?
