While interviewing tornado victims in Moore, Oklahoma Wolf Blitzer on CNN Live had his own ‘laughing out loud’ moment.
Wolf Blitzer was speaking to Rebecca Vitsmun who had left her house right before the tornado struck it. She had her 19-month-old son along with her.
Blitzer asked Vitsmun, “We're happy you're here. You guys did a great job. You've gotta thank the Lord, right? Do you thank the Lord for that split-second decision?”
The lady hesitated for a while and replied, “I am actually an atheist.”
Blitzer said, “You are. All right. But you made the right call.”
“We are here and I don’t blame anyone for thanking the Lord,” said Vitsmun who quite wisely handled the embarrassing situation Wolf Blitzer had created for himself.
Well, let’s just assume Wolf Blitzer will stop assuming that everyone living in America believes in God just to avoid such moments (on television) in future.
A half-mile wide tornado ripped through parts of Kansas and Oklahoma on Sunday killing more than 50 people including 20 children.
