A San Francisco Bay Area woman was caught on camera harassing a group of Muslims before throwing her umbrella and coffee at one of the men.
The California Department of Corrections employee Denise Slader interrupted the group of praying Muslims on Sunday in Lake Chabot Regional Park, accusing them of being terrorists and shouting anti-Islamic slurs.
The video, captured by Rasheed Albeshari, depicts Slader brutally insulting their faith as she yells that their minds are full of hate.
"The people you tortured, they're going to spend eternity in Heaven," Slader said. "You are very deceived by Satan. Your mind has been taken over — brainwashed — and you have nothing but hate. Nothing but hate."
A park ranger proceeded to come over to Slader and asked if it is appropriate for her to viciously scold the men.
"It is inappropriate, you're right, for somebody to tape record me," Slader said before hitting Albeshari with her umbrella and throwing a cup of coffee in his face. Albeshari can be heard screaming in the video.
The Alameda County District Attorney's Office filed two misdemeanor counts against Slader. She was charged with using "force or violence" against Albeshari and violating Albeshari's constitutional right to freely exercise his religion.
Slader's employment status has not been changed since this incident.
"It is legal to pray in the park, and talk to people in the park," East Bay Regional Park District spokeswoman Carolyn Jones said in an interview with NBC Bay Area. "It is not legal to hit people in the park."
The outrageous incident comes just on the heels of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s Nazi-induced proposal to halt all Muslim immigration to the United States.
While Trump’s policy announcement received bipartisan condemnation, the underlying truth is that with the escalating rise in rampant Islamophobia white Americans shouldn’t fear Muslims, but Muslims clearly have reason to fear the U.S.
