This brave woman will stop at nothing to save her dog from near death — including wrestling an alligator.
Florida resident Lori Beiswenger heard a piercing scream and then saw an alligator leap into a Point O’Woods golf course lake in Iverness.
"I said God, no, this can't be happening and it was the scariest feeling in the world," Beiswenger told WTSP-TV.
The golf course owner jumped into the lake and pulled the gator out by its tail.
"I'm just grabbing it and it was right there. I just kept pulling and saying, 'You're not getting this, you're not going out there,' because I knew what he had in mind," Beiswenger said.
With three big yanks, the 7-foot-6-inch alligator let go of the nine-year-old dog.
Despite a severed artery and other injuries, Beiswenger’s dog, Hope, lives on.
This isn’t Hope’s first brush with death. Beiswenger rescued her from a local animal shelter just before the dog was to be put down, and the pup also survived being hit by a car.
"It's a miracle. It's really a miracle that she survived it," said Beiswenger, who described her heroic effort as "the dumbest bravest thing I ever done."
