Usually only those players are benched who are performing below par on the field. Not here though, in Arkansas’s Wilson Intermediate League, there is a little known rule called the ‘Madre Hill rule’. The rule stops and prohibits young players from scoring too many touchdowns.
Yes, you read that perfectly well. Too. Many. Touchdowns.
Previously, you were benched for not scoring enough, now if you do – you end up back in the dressing room. 11 year old Demias Jimerson was the player on the receiving end of the Madre Hill Rule. Jimerson is so good that the little known ‘Madre Hill’ rule had to be implemented in order to give other players a chance to develop their skill too.
The running back from Arkansas’ Wilson Intermediate League is so good he had to be banned! Apparently the rule state that a player be banned from the endzone if they have already scored three touchdowns and the team has a 14 point lead.
It is just another move to make the game fair for everyone – preferably the weaker ones and make sure everyone’s at the same level, but does that make it okay?
We’re pretty stumped, tell us what you think!
