We all wonder if Messi will be Ok for the World Cup qualifying matches but we can breathe a sigh of relief, as his  coach Alejandro Sabella says he hopes "best player in the world," Lionel Messi will recover from an aggravated hamstring injury before Argentina's World Cup qualifier matches.

Argentina captain Lionel Messi is recovering from a lingering hamstring injury ahead of the side's upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Argentina, who lead the South American qualification with 24 points from 11 matches, will face Colombia on June 7 at home before heading to Ecuador four days later for qualifiers.

Ecuador are currently second with 20 points and Colombia third with 19, though both have played one game fewer.

Sabella returned from a trip to Europe on Monday after meeting with key players including Messi and Javier Mascherano.

The coach said Messi, who has been undergoing tests, was an indispensable part of the team.

Doubts persist whether Messi will be fit for the international matches, but he is likely to miss the rest of the La Liga season with Barcelona due to the injury.

The 25-year-old will also miss out on a chance to equal or break his record for league goals of 50 set last season. He currently has 46 from 32 appearances.
