Arsenal has joined to race to capture Valencia‘s top glove man Vicente Guita. The 26 year old was also on the radar of Barcelona who was looking to replace him with Victor Valdes.
Arsenal has sent its representative to try and struck a deal with the La Liga giants. This comes after a 3-1 drubbing against Aston Villa which raised questions over Szczesny’s stay Arsenal. Guita, who intended to cement his place at Valencia, was gutted after being dropped against Malaga.
Arsenal’s negotiator met with Valencia’s president Amadeo Salva on Tuesday to discuss the deal. Amadeo Salva insists that they will demand Guita’s buy-out clause fee however, it is assumed that Valencia would charge around 20 million for the talented shot stopper.
If Guita’s transfer is finalized, he’ll be the second Valencia player to have moved to the Premier league along with Tottenham’s Roberto Soldado.
