An unfortunate multi-car accident on Sunday's Sprint Cup Series race at Kentucky Speedway, wrecked the cars of Brad Keselowski and Greg Biffle and caused a red flag situation.
Both of the NASCAR drivers got involved in the huge crash during the 48th lap but fortunately no one was hurt. It took place when Kurt drove off the apron into turn one and initiated contact with Keselowski. The defending champion then spun down onto the apron before drifting back into the track, ultimately causing both Biffle and David Reutimann to stack into the accident.
Busch apologized on the radio after the accident, saying:
"Now that didn't work out so good. The track just threw me right back into him. That's all my fault."
He also apologized on Twitter:
While Keselowski said, "It's a wreck. Wrecks happen. It takes a chain of events to get there. We had the bottom lane on two or three restarts in a row and got shuffled back a little bit. We were trying to get patient because it looked like we will get the whole race in before rain and there is no reason to drive like an animal. Apparently I am the only one that got that memo. It is one of those deals."
Greg Biffle, Dave Blaney and Travis Kvapil were among the other drivers whose cars sustained damage.
