Performing The Star-Spangled Banner before a major sporting event can be a doubled-edged sword at times. Sure, it's an honor and everything but one little error also invites unnecessary criticism.
Not wanting any attention for the wrong reason, the Golden State Warriors brought out guitar legend and Bay Area native Carlos Santona for the national anthem ahead of their Game 2 with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA finals.
Accompanied by Cindy Blackman, Santana shredded out a rock version of the famous American tune and showed so many who've failed at the national anthem on a national stage how it's done.
One can't help but compare it with Jimi Hendrix's legendary rock solo in 1969.
