If the 2014 World Series wasn't memorable enough in all of its grandeur to begin with, it just got a touch of humor, thanks to one Chevrolet official’s painfully nervous speech in the postgame presentation.
As the official sponsors of World Series, Chevrolet presented a brand new 2015 Chevy Colorado to Madison Bumgarner, the new World Series MVP. The automaker assigned Rikk Wilde, their regional zone manager, with the task of representing the car in a little presentation. What happened next is the type of stuff usually found in SNL skits.
It was either the heat or his own personal battle with stage fright, but Wilde made a mess of things during the presentation. From the very beginning, the poor guy was nervous and had difficulty getting his words out – to the point that even the MLB commissioner became uncomfortable.
The best part came when the camera zoomed in on the Chevy Colorado and the only thing Mr. Wilde could muster about the car was that it was equipped with all the latest "technology and stuff."
People are going to have to wait in long lines for the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado because “technology and stuff” could not sound more exciting.
