Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle got in to trouble (read: arrested) when he was caught shoplifting a pack of underwear and a bottle of cologne from the brand MeUndies. It not only brought shame to him and his team, but the authorities slapped him with a $29,500 fine.
The brand MeUndies saved the day when they came up with a solution: The mischief maker now has a chance to atone for his shameful act by donating $15,000 worth of underwear and clothes to children in need in the Dallas area.
Our statement on the partnership with Joseph Randle: "Every mistake is a learning opportunity." pic.twitter.com/qaSEXQbx10— MeUndies (@MeUndies) October 19, 2014
MeUndies will pay Randle enough to help settle the hefty fine as well as supply him with enough underwear to last him for a long time.
All he has to do is make multiple appearances at Dallas-area schools and charities to speak to students about learning from their mistakes.
Hats off to MeUndies for turning a negative situation in to a positive one and to Randle for being a good sport and learning from his mistakes.
"I know there’s big-time consequences for things in life," Randle said. "I disappointed a lot of people who really care about me, like my brothers on my team, the coaches around here, this whole organization, people who have supported me, my family, my dad. I let a lot of people down. I am really just trying my best to make it up to them and do whatever I’ve got to do to get past this."
Well, he has his chance -- good luck to him!
