Romo, a National Football League (NFL) quarterback is known for his last-minute struggles and fumbles, especially during the matches played in the month of December.
A 23-point halftime lead slipped away from the Cowboys after Romo threw two fourth-quarter interceptions against the Packers.
Rick Gosselin of Dallas News wrote:
“Romo has this annoying habit of making the big mistake in crunch time. It’s repetitious behavior — and we saw it again Sunday, sealing an incredible collapse by the Cowboys in a 37-36 loss to the Green Bay Packers.”
Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones told USA Today, "This is a bitter, bitter disappointment."
Disgruntled fans took to Twitter, some came up with memes bringing up the last-minute “choking narrative” commonly associated with Romo. Even the Atlanta Hawks pitched in, mocking Romo with a picture of their star player Al Horford sinking a game-winning shot against the Dallas Mavericks on Nov. 29.

Here are a couple of other reactions:
Tony Romo throws his 2nd pick in the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter, and retains his title as the #NFL's best closer. For the other team.— NOTSportsCenter (@NOTSportsCenter) December 16, 2013
Tony Romo is the kind of guy who gets one turn away from solving a Rubik's Cube and then drops it down into a sewer drain— Humble Sports Guy (@HumbleSportsGuy) December 16, 2013
there are three things guaranteed in life: death, taxes, and tony romo throwing a 4th quarter interception— Kyle Rhonny (@KyleRhonny6) December 16, 2013
Yes the @dallascowboys defense is terrible. Yes the play calling was awful. But to defend Romo is still idiotic. He's a choke artist.— slothed.com (@jamespoling) December 16, 2013
How does tony romo still have a job in the nfl but tebow doesn't— corrado (@cb_cts) December 16, 2013
