Former Kansas City Chiefs head coach Herman ‘Herm’ Edwards gives a speech to rookies at the NFLPA Rookie Symposium, giving some solid piece of advice and straight up truth to the youngsters. Some of our favorite lines include: “You know what else man, it’s your job, understand what I’m saying: It’s your job.”
Herm’s main message centered on a duo of topics: remaining humble and seizing the moment. Every player who sat in that room has been accustomed to being “the man” at their respective universities, having their choice of everything from clothes to co-eds. In the words of the coach, it’s a privilege to play in the NFL.
Edwards was known best as the player who recovered a fumble by Giants quarterback Joe Pisarcik on a play that has been dubbed by some as "The Miracle at the Meadowlands."
He is infamous for his game day terminology, known by fans as "Hermisms," including the quote and sound bite, "You play to win the game!"
