
Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 51 helped push India to victory over New Zealand by 5 wickets in their second cricket Test in Bangalore as the home team secured a 2-0 victory in the two-match contest.
India finished its second innings 262-5 to win. Kohli combined with MS Dhoni for 96 to lead the hosts. Dhoni was not out on 48 when the match ended.
New Zealand added 16 runs to its overnight second-innings score of 232-9 on day four before Zaheer Khan had Jeetan Patel given out caught behind for 22. India spinner Ravi Ashwin finished with 5-69, his third five-wicket haul of the series.
India won the first Test at Hyderabad by an innings and 115 runs.
The teams also are scheduled to play two Twenty20 internationals on Sept. 8 and 11.
