According to the Arizona Cardinals official twitter account, quarterback John Skelton has a low ankle sprain. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt did not mention how long Skelton will be out but he did not rule Skelton out for Sunday's game at New England.
Now that the Cardinals know the extent of Skelton's injury, they can now move forward with the team. When it was originally feared that Skelton may have a high ankle sprain, the Cardinals began calling around looking for possible quarterback options in order to add depth to the roster. But now that Skelton has a low ankle sprain, the fear of a long absence will die down and the Cardinals won't have to make any rash decisions.
Even if Skelton does still miss Sunday's game, a low ankle sprain shouldn't have him out long enough to make the Cardinals have to look at other quarterback options outside of current quarterbacks Kevin Kolb and Ryan Lindley.
