Well, let’s call a spade a spade. The NBA’s Christmas Night broadcast was kind of boring, except for the Clippers/Warriors cliffhanger. But that too, came too late in the day. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the five-game line-up couldn’t deliver what the occasion demanded. It didn’t, until LeBron James took matters in his own hands and decided to lighten up what was otherwise a snooze fest of a day.
Fresh out of posterizing Sacramento Kings rookie Ben McLemore and Atlanta Hawks in successive games, King James soared high once again to collect Dwyane Wade’s no-look lob pass and finished with a monster jam in the opening quarter of the Miami Heat’s 101-95 win over the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center.
The four-time MVP was all set to hand Lakers guard Nick Young the same treatment he had given to the aforementioned duo. But Wade’s momentum prior to his pass swayed the in-style Young away from the basket, and hence, his contact with James was minimal. It can’t be put in the ‘serving up the facial’ category, and Swaggy P has Wade to thank for that. Damn You Flash! But the slam in itself, even without the contact, is truly amazing. Check out the video above.
And now, let’s see what people on Twitter think of LeBron’s latest highlight play:
